![]() ![]() while planes are very quick in traversing the globe. I believe the reason why they arent utilized is more because it isnt cost effective. lets say for arguments sake they dont want to waste material on a floating airfield, they still have an applicable amount of landmass and baring that, their are a multitude of planes that operate in water. Further more it would be simple to build a airfield, actually it'd be childs play for the technology they blatantly show. ![]() The instructors ship has a helipad, helicopters werent developed until planes had existed for a lengthy period of time, and they were only developed in order to account for the planes lack of ability in standing still and for more percise control that a plane couldnt achieve. Plus other pieces in the anime prove, tentitavly, that this thought process is incorrect. However if any of the class of WWII vessel is being used, which as we can see they are, Planes have existed for a long period of time, well before anything we are talking about in fact the first plane was developed in 1903, so even then its probable that the technology existed just before this rise in water level if its not 100 years in the future. I may have gotten that confused so forgive me and let me know. We are talking about a world that has changed due to both techtonic shifts and rising water levels correct? as such I remember the assumption thats its about 100 years in the future. From what I am able to gather, mind you the history is fairly vague. Unless they have carrier's for bomber blimps, then there won't be any Planes aren't a thing, and is why in one of the first episodes one of the crew members asks if another thinks it would ever be possible for heavier than air flight, and is answered with a no. All of their air ships are lighter than air gas ships. Saddly, there are no aircraft in this universe. Would like to see some aircraft carrier and Sentoku class submarine ![]()
